Guides/Reports/Cash Received by Day

Cash Received by Day

Finance → Cash Received is the till record: money in and money out per day, split by section (sales, laybye instalments, credit-note refunds) and by tender (cash, card, EFT).

Reading it:

  • The tree runs year → month → day — open a day to see its stores, and a store to see the individual till payments.
  • Refunds are their own negative entries, not netted invisibly — money out is shown as money out.
  • A laybye instalment counts once, on the day it was paid — no double counting when the laybye completes.
  • Obvious capture errors (an amount so large it can only be a till mistyping) are excluded from the totals by a rule, not by hand — consistently, every day.

The figure ties to the daily till control; the report says so. For how the till record meets the ledger, see Till-to-ledger reconciliation.
