Under Operations live the two working views of physical flow:
Inventory — stock on hand, valued, by warehouse and category, with drill to item level. Values use the period's standard costing so history isn't restated at today's cost.
Orders — what's promised but not yet delivered, in both directions:
- Owed to customers — orders and laybyes not yet fulfilled. Watch the status: some old laybye lines are long-dormant rather than live demand, and the view labels them so you don't read old commitments as fresh pipeline.
- Expected from suppliers — open purchase orders. Lead with the value, not the units — supplier lines mix metres, kilograms, and eaches, so a unit total is meaningless while the rand total is exactly right.
Internal transfers in transit are their own measure (goods between your own sites), kept separate from supplier orders so neither inflates the other.
